Eeg Technician

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare elderly patients for EEG procedures, explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
- Calibrate and adjust EEG equipment to obtain clear and accurate readings of brain activity.
- Monitor patients during EEG tests to ensure their safety and comfort, and to maintain accurate recordings.
- Recognize and troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during EEG procedures.
- Document and maintain detailed records of EEG test results, patient information, and procedures performed.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, including neurologists and geriatric specialists, to interpret EEG results and assist in patient care planning.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain cleanliness and organization of EEG equipment and workspace.
- Stay updated on advances in EEG technology and techniques, and participate in continuing education as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited EEG technician training program preferred.
- Certification as an EEG Technician (R.EEG.T) or eligibility for certification.
- Experience working with elderly patients, particularly in a geriatric or neurological setting, preferred.
- Proficiency in operating EEG equipment and understanding EEG procedure protocols.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact compassionately and effectively with elderly patients.
- Attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical conduct in healthcare practices.
