**Education & Experience**
**Role Overview**
The Cashier is responsible for managing transactions with customers efficiently and accurately, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. This role is key to creating a positive guest experience and ensuring smooth daily operations.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Customer Transactions**
- Process purchases, returns, and exchanges accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card, and digital payment methods securely and responsibly.
- Issue receipts, refunds, or change to customers as required.
**Customer Service**
- Greet customers with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Address customer inquiries about menu items, products, or promotions.
- Assist in resolving any billing discrepancies or concerns promptly.
**Operational Support**
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including restocking supplies like bags or receipt paper.
- Balance the cash drawer at the end of shifts, ensuring accuracy.
- Assist with additional tasks such as packaging items or assembling orders when needed.
**Sales & Promotions**
- Inform customers about ongoing promotions, loyalty programs, or special offers.
- Upsell or suggest additional items to enhance the customer experience.
**Compliance & Safety**
- Adhere to company policies, including cash handling and fraud prevention procedures.
- Follow health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene at the workstation.
**Qualifications & Skills**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role is an advantage but not mandatory.
**Technical Skills**
- Familiarity with POS systems and digital payment platforms is preferred.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle transactions accurately.
**Soft Skills**
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
