Formulation Scientist

**Position**:Formulation Scientist (Nutraceutical/AYUSH)**

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- **Strategic Planning and Experimentation**:

- Collaborate with the central team to set and prioritize **fortnightly objectives** for formulation and experimentation.
- Prepare and submit **weekly experiment plans**, detailing experimental designs, objectives, and anticipated outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive logs of all experiments in an **Experiment Log Table**, tracking results and optimizing processes over time.
- **Target Achievement and Product Iteration**:

- Work towards weekly and monthly targets for the **number of completed experiments** and **transition phases to production**.
- Gather and analyze **consumer feedback monthly**, then plan quarterly product improvements to address documented issues.
- Lead **product change cycles**, planning and executing adjustments as needed according to feedback and quality standards.
- **Resource and Budget Management**:

- Ensure all necessary **equipment and raw ingredients are available** a minimum of 72 hours before experiments.
- Establish and manage a **monthly budget**, focusing on ethical and optimal allocation of resources for experimental and production processes.
- Regularly update the **Cost Optimization Report** and other budgeting documents for monthly operating meetings (MOMs).
- **Compliance and Quality Assurance**:

- Develop quality assurance (QA) protocols specific to newly launched products, ensuring they align with regulatory standards.
- Oversee the **pilot production** phases to ensure smooth transitions from development to scaled production, maintaining product integrity and consistency.
- **Nutritional, Regulatory, and Compliance Support**:

- Ensure all product formulations meet **nutritional and regulatory compliance** by leveraging analytical data from raw materials and adhering to industry standards.
- Develop **label decks** for various product formulations based on processing locations and regulatory guidelines.
- Submit formulations for analytical testing, including **in-vitro** or **animal testing** when required, and prepare summaries of test results for internal use and regulatory submissions.

**Experience Requirements**:

- A minimum of **4 years** of hands-on experience in the **Nutraceutical** or **Pharmaceutical** industry.
- Familiarity with basic and advanced food-related and lab equipment, such as:

- **Hot Air Ovens** and **Kjeldahl apparatus** for fundamental tasks.
- **High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)** and **Gas Chromatography (GC)** for advanced analysis and formulation validation.
- Experience in **market research**, **ingredient research**, and **output-driven specification research** to support data-driven formulation design.
- Proven track record in **Cost of Goods (COGs) reduction**, optimizing production costs while maintaining product quality and standards.

**Technical and Analytical Skills**:

- Proficiency with research and data analysis tools, including:

- **Mendeley** for organizing and referencing scientific literature.
- **Stata** for data analysis, essential in optimizing formulation processes.
- **Examine** and **Google Scholar** for ingredient efficacy and safety research.
- Strong foundation in **COGs optimization** to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Experience working within **regulatory frameworks** and understanding compliance protocols specific to nutraceuticals and AYUSH guidelines.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
