**Responsibilities**:

- Design, develop and deploy new database systems that meet business needs
- Evaluate, improve and optimize existing database systems for performance, reliability, and scalability
- Implement and maintain database security protocols
- Work with stakeholders, engineers, and other technical staff to understand company needs and requirements
- Develop data modeling and database design documentation
- Develop and maintain database-related standards, practices and procedures
- Monitor and maintain system uptime and availability

**Requirements**:

- At least 5 years of experience in database architecture or related field
- Advanced proficiency in SQL
- In-depth experience with at least one major database platform such as MySQL, Postgres, Redshift, AWS / EC2 / S3

(AWS solutions architect certification is a plus)
- Knowledge of database design principles and techniques
- Knowledge of data storage and indexing techniques
- Experience with database backup and recovery operations
- Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
