**Teaching and Instruction**:

- Assess and evaluate student performance to provide constructive feedback and track progress.
- **Curriculum Development and Subject Matter Expertise**:

- Develop and refine curriculum materials, including lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, and digital content.
- Ensure that content aligns with state and national standards and reflects current events and historical accuracy.
- Collaborate with other teachers and instructional designers to develop comprehensive and interdisciplinary content.
- Stay updated on educational trends, technology, and best practices in social studies education.
- **Student Engagement and Mentorship**:

- Create an inclusive and safe classroom environment that fosters respect and open-mindedness.
- Mentor and support students' individual learning needs, adapting instructional techniques as necessary.
- **Professional Development and Collaboration**:

- Attend faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development workshops.
- Share best practices, resources, and insights with colleagues to enhance the department’s teaching approach.
- Participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and other community outreach activities as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, History, Political Science, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- State teaching certification in social studies or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of social studies content, curriculum development, and instructional design.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with digital tools for virtual teaching and online learning.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Experience with educational technology and online learning platforms.
- Familiarity with diverse teaching methods and differentiated instruction techniques.
- Ability to develop culturally responsive teaching materials.
- Previous experience in curriculum development or as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in social studies.
