SQL Server Dba

**### **Job Summary**:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our SQL Server databases. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems, as well as ensuring their availability and reliability. Experience should have both Development and DBA experience.

**### **Key Responsibilities**:

- **Database Management**:

- Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server databases and related software.
- Monitor and maintain database systems to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Manage database storage, capacity planning, and growth.
- **Performance Tuning and Optimization**:

- Analyze and optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing strategies.
- Conduct regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and recovery testing.
- Monitor system performance and identify potential issues before they become critical.
- **Security and Compliance**:

- Implement and maintain database security measures, including encryption and access controls.
- Ensure databases comply with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- **Backup and Recovery**:

- Develop and implement robust backup and recovery plans.
- Perform regular backups and ensure recoverability of data in case of failure.
- Test disaster recovery plans and procedures.
- **Data Integration and Migration**:

- Design and manage ETL processes for data integration and migration.
- Ensure data consistency and integrity during data transfers between systems.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Develop and generate reports on database performance, security, and usage metrics.
- Provide regular status updates and recommendations for improvements.
- **Collaboration**:

- Work closely with developers to optimize database designs and queries.
- Collaborate with IT and network teams to ensure seamless integration of database systems.
- Participate in project planning and provide technical expertise for database-related tasks.

## **Qualifications**:

- **Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- **Experience**:

- Proven experience as a SQL Server DBA or in a similar role.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including versions [Insert relevant versions, e.g., 2016, 2019].
- Proficiency in T-SQL and database administration tools.
- Experience with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
- **Skills**:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent knowledge of database design, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Proficient in using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and other DBA tools.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- **Preferred Qualifications**:

- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar.
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS).
- Knowledge of other database platforms (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) is a plus.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Occasional need to work outside of standard business hours to perform maintenance and meet project deadlines.
