Job Description - SQL Server DBA

LOCATION: Bangalore

POSITION

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful person for this role will be highly experienced in SQL Server administration. They will have experience with:

- High-Availability design and builds using technologies SQL Server Failover Clusters
- Replication and Cloning Design and Solutions
- Database upgrades and migrations
- Backup recovery plans and execution
- Data integration (SSIS), analytics (SSAS), business intelligence (SSRS), and visualization.
- SQL Server on Azure: - IaaS and PaaS

**EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:
SQL Server DBA that has the following skill sets:
A minimum of 7-8 years’ experience with the following is required:

- Provide 24x7 support.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
- 3+ years in database administration with MS SQL Server
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining high quality of deliverables.
- Install and configure new SQL Servers
- Monitor system's health and performance.
- Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time.
- Handling daily issues (Blocking, long running Transactions, Deadlocks, etc.)
- Troubleshoot issues related to TempDB, Transaction log and System databases.
- Basic knowledge of SSIS, SSRS
- Experience with backups, restores and recovery.
- Scheduling database backups, taking full and Transaction log backups.
- Automate SQL server tasks (SQL jobs, Windows scripts, etc.)
- Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
- Patch SQL Servers to newer patches and versions.
- Experience working with Windows server.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Preferably with proven experience on MySQL, PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.
- Flexible, team player, “get-it-done” personality.
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
- MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications a plus

Experience identified below are additional positives:

- Supporting multi-site environment
- Experience with virtualization technologies
- Experience with Nagios, and scripting associated with plugin development.
- Experience with using ServiceNow.
- Previous MSP experience
- Experience with Azure, Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud, and/or AWS

**Job Types**: Full-time, Regular / Permanent

**Salary**: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per month

Schedule:

- Rotational shift

- Bangalore, Karnataka: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
