The IB School Counsellor plays a crucial role in fostering the emotional, academic, and social well-being of students enrolled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. The counsellor provides a safe, confidential, and nurturing environment to address students’ challenges, support their mental health, and ensure their holistic development. They work collaboratively with students, parents, and faculty to help students achieve their personal and academic potential.

**Key Responsibilities1. Student Support**
- Provide individual and group counselling sessions to address personal, emotional, or academic concerns.
- Assist students in managing stress, anxiety, and challenges related to academics, relationships, and personal growth.
- Support students in developing skills such as time management, goal-setting, resilience, and conflict resolution.

**2. Academic Guidance**
- Collaborate with the IB Coordinator and teachers to ensure students are coping with the rigorous demands of the IB curriculum.
- Provide guidance on course selection and study strategies that align with students’ goals and interests.

**3. Mental Health Advocacy**
- Identify students at risk and implement intervention strategies in collaboration with parents, teachers, and external specialists when necessary.
- Raise awareness about mental health through workshops, campaigns, and events for students, parents, and faculty.
- Maintain a confidential and supportive counselling environment in accordance with professional ethical standards.

**4. Parent & Teacher Collaboration**
- Act as a bridge between students, parents, and teachers to address academic or personal concerns effectively.
- Provide parents and faculty with insights and strategies to support students’ mental health and academic progress.
- Conduct parent workshops on topics such as adolescent psychology, stress management, and effective communication.

**5. Programme Development & Support**
- Design and implement counselling programmes, workshops, and initiatives that align with the school’s mission and IB ethos.
- Promote the IB Learner Profile by encouraging attributes such as inquiry, open-mindedness, and balance in students.
- Stay updated on IB standards and practices, incorporating them into counselling strategies and support services.

**6. Crisis Management**
- Respond to crisis situations, providing immediate support and facilitating access to specialized external services if needed.
- Maintain and implement a crisis intervention protocol in coordination with the school leadership team.

**Qualifications & SkillsEducational Requirements**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Certification or training in school counselling, child psychology, or adolescent mental health is preferred.

**Experience**
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an IB school or an international educational setting.
- Familiarity with the IB curriculum and philosophy is a strong advantage.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
