The school’s nurturing and inclusive environment empowers students to pursue their education seamlessly at institutions around the world.Role Description – IB PYP/DP LibrarianTreamis International School is seeking passionate and experiencedIB PYP and IBDP Librariansto support the curriculum and foster inquiry-based learning through effectivecollection management ,information literacy instruction , andcollaboration with teachers . The librarian will play a key role in maintaining and developing the school’s library resources, guiding student research for major projects such as thePYP ExhibitionandDP Extended Essay , and promoting a culture of reading and lifelong learning across the school community. The role is based in Bangalore.Note:This position is split into two full-time, on-site roles - one forIB PYP Librarianand one forIBDP Librarian .Key Responsibilities Curriculum Support Select, curate, and manage print and digital resources that align with the IB PYP and DP curriculum. Ensure all library materials are current, relevant, and meet the needs of students and teachers. Instruction and Pedagogy Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrateresearch and information literacyskills into the curriculum. Teach students keyIB Approaches to Learning (ATL)skills related to research, critical thinking, and self-management. Guide students in research techniques and academic honesty for projects such as thePYP ExhibitionandDP Extended Essay . Library Management Catalogue, organize, and maintain library collections and digital databases. Manage the library budget, acquisitions, and subscriptions. Oversee the physical and digital library spaces to ensure they are welcoming, functional, and well-equipped with technology. Community Engagement Promote a love of reading and learning through events such as book talks, author visits, reading challenges, and library displays. Collaborate with teachers, students, and parents to create a positive, inclusive, and inquiry-driven learning environment. Qualifications and Skills Degree in Library Scienceor a related field (Master’s preferred). Knowledge of IB program requirements ; prior experience in anIB schoolis highly desirable. Expertise inLibrary Instruction ,Metadata Management , andLibrary Management Systems . Strong understanding ofchildren’s literature ,educational resources , anddigital literacy tools . Ability to supportstudent researchneeds and guide inquiry-based learning. Proficiency witheducational technologyand digital resource platforms. Passion for promotingliteracy, inquiry, and lifelong learning . Experience supportingEnglish Language Learners (ELL)is an advantage.
