**Job Description: Educator, Grade 10 Math - Hamari Shala Program, Ashraya**

**I. Background**:
Ashraya’s integrated program model is designed to meet immediate, individual-level needs while also providing scope for long-term growth and community development. We work with denotified and notified tribal groups in Yerawada. Since 2005, AIC has enrolled and supported the education of hundreds of out-of-school children from the streets and slums.

**II. Position Summary**:
Hamari Shala Program (HSP) is a schooling initiative under the NIOS board. At AIC, we emphasize experiential and project-based learning methods to make education meaningful and engaging.

This is a **full-time** position. The **Grade 10 Math Educator** will be responsible for the daily teaching and management of the class, ensuring that students receive structured, supportive, and effective math instruction aligned with the NIOS curriculum. The educator will work closely with the Education Program Lead, parents, and the community to support students' academic progress and overall development.

**III. Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- **Teaching & Classroom Management**:

- Teach **Grade 10 Math** using experiential and student-centered teaching methods.
- Develop and implement daily and long-term lesson plans as per the NIOS curriculum.
- Use creative teaching strategies to build conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.
- Regularly assess students' progress through tests, assignments, and evaluations.
- Identify students' learning gaps and implement remedial strategies.
- Maintain a positive and disciplined classroom environment.
- **Student Support & Engagement**:

- Support students in preparing for NIOS board exams through structured revision and guidance.
- Track student attendance and follow up on absenteeism.
- Work collaboratively with counselors and remedial educators to provide additional academic support where needed.
- Conduct **Basti visits** to engage with students’ families and provide learning support.
- **Parent & Community Involvement**:

- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding students’ progress.
- Participate in **open days, parent-teacher meetings, and student portfolio reviews**.
- Encourage parental involvement in students’ education and career planning.
- **Professional Development & Organizational Participation**:

- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development programs.
- Collaborate with other educators to improve teaching methodologies.
- Actively participate in organization-wide activities, events, and celebrations.
- Ensure timely completion of **bi-annual student reports and creative learning samples**.
- **Educational Qualifications**:

- Graduate/Postgraduate in **Mathematics** or a related field.
- **B.Ed.** or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred).
- **Experience & Skills**:

- Minimum **2 years** of experience in teaching **Math** at the **secondary level**.
- Experience working with **NIOS students** or in a non-traditional education setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in **English and Hindi** (written and oral).
- Basic **computer literacy** and ability to integrate technology into teaching.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
