**Job Title: Course Advisor**

**Reports To**: Academic Director/Manager of Student Services

**Position Summary**:
The Course Advisor plays a crucial role in supporting students throughout their educational journey by providing expert guidance on course selection, program requirements, and academic planning. This role requires a deep understanding of the institution's curriculum, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to student success.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Student Advising**:

- Assist students in understanding course requirements and academic policies.
- Provide personalized guidance on course selection to meet students’ academic and career goals.
- Support students in developing academic plans and schedules.
- Monitor students’ progress and provide interventions or referrals to support services as needed.
- **Program Information**:

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all academic programs, including prerequisites, corequisites, and graduation requirements.
- Communicate program changes and updates to students effectively.
- Assist students with understanding transfer credits and articulation agreements.
- **Administrative Duties**:

- Document advising sessions and maintain accurate records of student interactions.
- Prepare reports on student progress, advising outcomes, and other relevant metrics.
- Participate in orientation sessions, open houses, and other events to promote academic programs.
- **Collaboration and Outreach**:

- Work closely with faculty, department heads, and administrative staff to ensure cohesive support for students.
- Collaborate with other advisors and student services staff to share best practices and resources.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to stay current with advising practices and educational trends.
- **Student Support**:

- Identify at-risk students and provide proactive support and resources to improve retention and success.
- Advise students on academic policies, procedures, and resources available to them.
- Support students in resolving academic issues and navigating institutional processes.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Student Services, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in academic advising or a related educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of academic programs, degree requirements, and institutional policies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using advising software and student information systems.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in an educational setting.

**Work Environment**:

- Office setting within an educational institution.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for special events or peak advising periods.

**Application Process**:
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
