**About the Role**

Channel009 is launching India’s **Gram Panchayat Digital Ecosystem (GPDE)** — a network of 5000+ Panchayat websites and hyperlocal news portals.
We are hiring a **News Editor** to lead **content creation, curation, and editorial management** for Panchayat-level digital news platforms.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Curate and edit **news, updates, and local stories** from multiple Panchayat sources.
- Ensure **accuracy, neutrality, and fast turnaround** of stories during election season.
- Manage a team of local content contributors/reporters.
- Collaborate with the Digital Project team to publish updates on Panchayat websites.
- Monitor **social media channels** and ensure content engagement.
- Maintain editorial calendar and compliance with media ethics.

**Requirements**:

- Graduate / Postgraduate in Journalism, Mass Communication, or English.
- **2-5 years experience** in editorial/news content writing or editing.
- Strong command over **Hindi & English** (regional languages like Gujarati/Bengali an advantage).
- Familiarity with **WordPress, digital publishing, or newsroom CMS**.
- Ability to **work under deadlines** and manage multiple stories at once.
