Digantara is building the world's first maps for space, Space-Mission Assurance Platform_(Space-MAP)_. Space-MAP represents an evolutionary end-to-end infrastructure for sustainable space operations, offering a comprehensive Space Situational Awareness_(SSA)_ solution that simplifies and strengthens satellite operations in the face of the rapidly expanding commercialization of space.

We are seeking a Junior Data Scientist to implement statistical analysis, classification models, and regression techniques for analyzing space-based data.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Develop and implement statistics-based algorithms** to enhance the accuracy and quality of space data
- **Build and deploy machine learning models** to classify space-based events and categorize them accordingly
- **Create regression models** to predict the trajectories and behaviours of space objects, considering various dynamic factors
- **Develop robust evaluation frameworks** to assess the performance of classification and regression models, continuously iterating on algorithms for enhanced accuracy and efficiency
- **Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams** to integrate machine learning solutions into our Space-MAP platform, ensuring seamless compatibility with existing systems

**Qualifications**:

- Master's or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, AI/ML, Mathematics, or a related field
- Proficiency in basic descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, feature transformation, dimensionality reduction, supervised or unsupervised learning, model tuning, and validation
- Hands-on experience in developing machine learning models for classification and regression in a professional setting
- Knowledge of data structures and various machine learning techniques. Familiarity with deep learning networks and other numerical algorithms

**Preferred Qualities**:

- Hands-on experience with Python packages for data analysis
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, with experience in relevant libraries and frameworks
- Experience with parallel programming and version control
