**JOB PURPOSE AND OVERVIEW**

The Assistant Vice President of IT Operations will lead teams to develop, deploy, maintain, and support corporate systems and processes that enable Appfire to grow and scale its business and increase its organizational maturity.

This role will report directly to the Vice President of Information Systems and Program Management. It will be primarily responsible for overseeing the execution of strategy and direction as set by the Vice President of Information Systems and Program Management and establishing the most efficient utilization and optimization of corporate information systems and business processes. This role will oversee all aspects of the Technical Support Engineering, IT Infrastructure, Technical Writing, and IT Special Projects teams within the IT Operations group.

**WHAT YOU'LL DO**
- Provide guidance and oversight needed to team managers to ensure the timely and effective execution of priorities and projects, as defined or sponsored by the Vice President of Information Systems and Program Management.
- Ensure the IT Operations teams provide consistent IT services across all Appfire geographies.
- Build teams in multiple locations to offer local support of office networks, ISPs, conference room equipment, etc. & provide adequate support hours for our global teams.
- Develop, maintain, and promote corporate policies, including IT policies, governance policies, etc., other than those related to HR or Finance.
- Ensure that the IT Operations teams establish and execute processes that ensure compliance with any applicable company policy and ISO, SOC 2, and any other corporate certification deemed valuable to Appfire. Work closely with InfoSec and be the main point of contact for ISO Audits relating to IT Operations.
- Develop, maintain, and promote corporate processes such as employee onboarding, employee offboarding, and post mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities, including identifying and mentoring others as process owners.
- Partner with functional areas to understand critical issues and design, develop, and implement fit-for-purpose and sustainable solutions.
- Work with key IT stakeholders to develop, communicate, maintain, and enforce architecture principles and technology standards that define the underlying guidelines for using and deploying all corporate IT resources and systems.
- Develop and monitor KPIs to ensure that the quality and delivery of our IT services meet our desired targets.
- Monitor the Atlassian ecosystem, attend Atlassian events and trade shows, and conduct research to maintain knowledge about the Atlassian ecosystem as well as other industry trends as they may relate to Appfire's systems and infrastructure

**WHAT WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE**
- E./B.Techin EE, EECS, CS, MIS, or a comparable discipline.
- 15+ years of experience supporting IT Infrastructure, including operations, technical support, network administration, systems administration, asset management, data center management, cloud hosting, security, and disaster recovery.
- 7+ years of people management experience, including the management of other managers.
- 5+ years of experience managing multiple deadline-driven Infrastructure projects simultaneously, ideally using various project management tools and methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban.
- 5+ years of experience in designing and delivering cloud-based IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS infrastructure.
- Experience running effective technology proofs of concept and managing technology vendor relationships.
- Demonstrable capability to design and implement an IT environment based on a well-articulated roadmap and strategic vision.
- In-depth knowledge on cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure), open-source implementations, and Linux.
- In-depth knowledge of server administration, virtualization, storage, and backup systems.
- In-depth knowledge of network topology, protocols, VLANs, QoS, VPNs, TCP/IP, routing, switches, and firewalls.
- Demonstrable knowledge of relevant standards and frameworks. E.g., ISO 27001, ISO 27705, CIS, ITIL, ITSM,
