The Role

The role of a MySQL DBA is multifaceted, encompassing database design, performance optimization, security, backup and recovery, maintenance, troubleshooting, collaboration, and documentation. By effectively managing MySQL database systems, DBAs ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of critical data, supporting the organization's goals and operations.

Skills Requirements

Mandatory Skillset - Core MYSQL DBA, with performance tuning, migration, replication

Good to Have - Linux expert, Storage

**Requirements**:

- Proficient in MySQL database management, specializing in master and slave replication.
- Skilled in tuning and optimising database performance.
- Strong command over SQL coding and query optimization.
- Experienced in creating strategic roadmaps for database infrastructure.
- Possesses extensive knowledge of Linux systems and administration.
- Well-versed in working with virtual machines (VMs) for database deployment.
- Familiar with database security best practices and implementation.
- Proficient in utilising backup tools for ensuring data integrity.
- Knowledgeable in setting up and managing master-slave configurations for database replication.
