About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL Server databases (2012 and above)
• Perform database migrations (on-prem to on-prem / on-prem to Azure SQL / IaaS)
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery setups are maintained
• Perform database backups, restores, and recovery
• Monitor database performance and implement tuning improvements
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams for deployments
• Implement and enforce database security policies
• Automate recurring DBA tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, or other scripting tools
• Prepare documentation for configurations, standards, and procedures
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand migration goals and timelines

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 4–6 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA
• Strong experience in database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching
• Solid understanding of performance tuning and optimization
• Experience with database migration projects
• Good understanding of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies
• Working knowledge of backup/recovery, replication, and log shipping
• Proficient in writing and optimizing complex T-SQL queries

Preferred / Secondary Skills:

• Experience with Microsoft Azure (Azure SQL Database, Azure VM with SQL Server, Azure Database Migration Service)
• Familiarity with cloud migration strategies and tools
• Exposure to Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Azure Monitor, or Log Analytics is a plus
• Understanding of hybrid cloud environments

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Microsoft certifications such as:

o Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate

o Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (bonus)
