We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator with expertise in SQL Database Management to join our team at our EDLI-Supply Chain Support in Kochi, Piravom, Kerala. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, with a focus on optimizing and managing SQL databases to ensure the efficient operation of our data-driven systems.
Location : Kochi, Piravom, Kerala
Salary : ₹8 LPA to ₹10 LPA
Experience : Minimum 3+ years in SQL Database Management
Industry : Supply Chain Management / IT
Key Responsibilities:
Database Management:
Install, configure, and maintain SQL databases to ensure their availability, performance, and security.
Monitor database performance and implement necessary optimizations to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Perform regular database backups, restoration processes, and disaster recovery planning.
Manage database access, ensuring proper permissions and security measures are in place.
Performance Tuning & Optimization:
Analyze and optimize SQL queries and database structures to improve performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues related to performance, storage, and integrity.
Implement indexing, partitioning, and other optimization techniques to manage large data volumes.
Database Security:
Ensure the security of the databases by implementing best practices for data encryption, user access controls, and audit logs.
Regularly update and patch database systems to protect against vulnerabilities and unauthorized access.
Monitor database activity to detect and respond to potential security breaches.
Data Management & Integration:
Work with development teams to integrate databases with various applications and systems.
Manage data migration projects, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal downtime.
Create and maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
Reporting & Analysis:
Generate reports and queries to support business operations and decision-making processes.
Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver accurate data insights.
Support & Maintenance:
Provide technical support for database-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving incidents in a timely manner.
Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations with minimal disruption to operations.
Monitor and manage database capacity, planning for future growth and scaling requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in SQL Database Management.
Proficiency in SQL Server, MySQL, or other relevant database management systems.
Strong understanding of database architecture, indexing, and query optimization techniques.
Experience with backup, restore, and recovery models.
Familiarity with database security best practices, including data encryption and access controls.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS).
Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
Certifications in database administration (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, Oracle
Certified Professional) are a plus.
