We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator with expertise in SQL Database Management to join our team at our EDLI-Supply Chain Support in Kochi, Piravom, Kerala. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, with a focus on optimizing and managing SQL databases to ensure the efficient operation of our data-driven systems.
Location: Kochi, Piravom, Kerala
Salary: ₹8 LPA to ₹10 LPA
Experience: Minimum 3+ years in SQL Database Management
Industry: Supply Chain Management / IT
Key Responsibilities:
Database Management:
- Install, configure, and maintain SQL databases to ensure their availability, performance, and security.
- Monitor database performance and implement necessary optimizations to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Perform regular database backups, restoration processes, and disaster recovery planning.
- Manage database access, ensuring proper permissions and security measures are in place.
Performance Tuning & Optimization:
- Analyze and optimize SQL queries and database structures to improve performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues related to performance, storage, and integrity.
- Implement indexing, partitioning, and other optimization techniques to manage large data volumes.
Database Security:
- Ensure the security of the databases by implementing best practices for data encryption, user access controls, and audit logs.
- Regularly update and patch database systems to protect against vulnerabilities and unauthorized access.
- Monitor database activity to detect and respond to potential security breaches.
Data Management & Integration:
- Work with development teams to integrate databases with various applications and systems.
- Manage data migration projects, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal downtime.
- Create and maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Generate reports and queries to support business operations and decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver accurate data insights.
Support & Maintenance:
- Provide technical support for database-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving incidents in a timely manner.
- Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations with minimal disruption to operations.
- Monitor and manage database capacity, planning for future growth and scaling requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in SQL Database Management.
- Proficiency in SQL Server, My SQL, or other relevant database management systems.
- Strong understanding of database architecture, indexing, and query optimization techniques.
- Experience with backup, restore, and recovery models.
- Familiarity with database security best practices, including data encryption and access controls.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS).
- Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Power Shell) for automation.
- Certifications in database administration (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, Oracle
- Certified Professional) are a plus.
