Position: Engineering Manager – Backend Technologies, Digital Business
This position is required to provide technology leadership and management for the backend development team on medium to large scale products/platforms with internal and direct customer impact.
Education: B.E./B.Tech, MCA or Equivalent Computer Degree
Purpose:
- The incumbent will oversee the development and implementation of backend solutions that enable the business, product, and engineering teams to make informed decisions.
- They will be responsible for creating reusable components, frameworks, and libraries at scale. Facilitate conversations about scalability of backend architecture to handle massive data amounts and address diverse challenges.
- They will also partner to drive technical roadmaps, leverage standards and platforms, and enterprise platform and architecture.

Reporting Relationship: Senior Engineering Manager, Digital Business Business/Channel/Function: Digital Experience:
Overall 10+ years of IT experience with a minimum of 5+ years in backend technologies with recent projects involving AWS Cloud services.
• Proven work experience as a Backend developer and at least 3+ years of experience in a managerial or lead role.
• Expertise in programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python, or Node.js.
• Strong experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and data storage solutions.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with serverless architecture and event-driven programming.
• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment).
• Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the backend development team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support. • Oversee the design and development of scalable and efficient backend systems and APIs.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of backend solutions and drive best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
• Optimize backend performance, ensuring the system can handle large-scale data and traffic.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure the quality of the team’s code.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline development processes.
• Identify system bottlenecks and propose solutions to eliminate them.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
