With outlets across India and international expansion underway, TOVO is poised for significant growth. We are looking for a visionary Chief Business Officer (CBO) to lead our business functions, driving strategic growth across operations, expansion, marketing, and HR as we scale our brand globally.
Role Overview:
As the Chief Business Officer (CBO) at TOVO, you will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing the company’s end-to-end business operations. You will lead and integrate key functions across Operations , Expansion , Marketing , and Human Resources , ensuring that TOVO achieves its aggressive growth targets while maintaining operational excellence, consumer satisfaction, and a strong brand identity. The CBO will work closely with the CEO to define the overall business strategy, drive execution, and ensure the alignment of all departments towards achieving the company’s long-term vision.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Leadership:
Operational Efficiency:
Oversee the daily operations of all TOVO outlets, ensuring consistent performance, quality, and adherence to brand standards.
Develop and implement systems and processes that improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
Monitor KPIs, including consumer satisfaction, revenue per outlet, and operational cost-effectiveness, driving continuous improvement.
Supply Chain & Inventory Management:
Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to optimize inventory management, streamline vendor relationships, and ensure timely availability of raw materials.
Implement strategies to improve the raw material-to-production-to-menu ratio, driving sustainability and profitability.
Innovation in Consumer Experience:
Lead efforts to enhance consumer experience by introducing innovative dining concepts, improving service efficiency, and leveraging technology.
Ensure seamless coordination between the culinary and operations teams to align product offerings with consumer expectations.
2. Expansion & Growth:
Global & Domestic Market Expansion:
Lead the expansion of TOVO in new geographies, both domestically and internationally, including markets like the U.S., with an initial focus on Texas.
Manage all aspects of new market entry, including site selection, market research, regulatory compliance, and launch strategy.
Oversee the rollout of the Franchise-Invested, Company-Owned, and Company-Operated (FICO) model in key markets, ensuring successful execution.
Site Development & Real Estate:
Lead the identification, negotiation, and development of new restaurant sites in high-traffic, high-growth locations.
Work closely with real estate teams and external partners to manage lease agreements, fit-outs, and operational readiness.
Scalability & Profitability:
Ensure that all expansion efforts are scalable and profitable by focusing on operational optimization, supply chain efficiency, and consumer demand.
Develop business models and forecasts to assess the financial viability of new locations and partnerships.
3. Marketing & Brand Growth:
Brand Strategy & Positioning:
Drive the overall marketing strategy to build TOVO’s brand equity, increase consumer engagement, and grow market share.
Lead the development of brand campaigns, promotions, and digital marketing strategies to drive awareness of TOVO's unique product offering, with a special focus on Infused Chicken .
Ensure consistency in brand messaging across all consumer touchpoints, including digital, in-store, and community-based initiatives.
Marketing Campaigns & Digital Innovation:
Oversee the execution of high-impact marketing campaigns that drive consumer traffic, online engagement, and sales.
Collaborate with the online revenue team to optimize TOVO’s presence on digital platforms, food delivery apps (Swiggy, Zomato), and social media.
Consumer Insights & Data-Driven Marketing:
Use market research and data analytics to refine brand strategies, product offerings, and marketing initiatives, ensuring they resonate with target audiences.
Drive the use of CRM systems to develop personalized marketing campaigns aimed at increasing customer lifetime value and loyalty.
4. Human Resources & Culture Building:
Talent Acquisition & Development:
Oversee the development and implementation of a robust HR strategy, ensuring that TOVO attracts, retains, and nurtures top talent at all levels of the organization.
Lead initiatives focused on leadership development, employee training, and succession planning to build a high-performing and motivated workforce.
Work closely with HR teams to ensure the alignment of company culture with business goals, promoting a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and innovation.
Employee Engagement & Performance Management:
Implement programs that enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention, ensuring a positive work environment across all outlets and corporate functions.
Establish performance management systems that align with TOVO’s strategic objectives, providing clear career development paths for employees.
Organizational Growth:
Lead efforts to structure and scale the organization to support business growth, ensuring that HR processes, training programs, and corporate culture evolve alongside the company’s expansion.
Key Qualifications:
Experience:
12+ years of experience in business leadership roles, preferably in QSR, FSR, retail, or hospitality, with a strong focus on operations, marketing, and expansion.
Proven track record of scaling operations, leading multi-unit businesses, and driving profitability.
Experience managing cross-functional teams (Operations, HR, Marketing, Finance) in a fast-paced environment.
Strategic Vision & Execution:
Ability to develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy that integrates operational efficiency, brand growth, and market expansion.
Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, drive cost optimization, and deliver profitability.
Leadership & Team Management:
Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to manage large teams, inspire high performance, and foster a culture of accountability and innovation.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership and external partners.
Global Market Experience:
Experience in leading international expansions, with a deep understanding of global market trends, consumer behaviour, and regulatory environments.
