Job Summary:

The Food Coordinator is responsible for overseeing food service operations, ensuring high-quality meal preparation, and maintaining standards of cleanliness and safety. This role involves managing food supplies, coordinating with vendors, organizing meal schedules, and ensuring that food is prepared in compliance with nutritional and dietary requirements. The Food Coordinator works closely with kitchen staff, suppliers, and management to provide an excellent dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan menus based on dietary needs, budget, and quality standards.
  • Prepare, cook, and serve meals as needed or oversee meal preparation.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared following established recipes and safety guidelines.

Inventory Management

  • Track food inventory levels and manage orders to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Liaise with suppliers to procure high-quality ingredients and negotiate pricing.
  • Monitor food storage areas to ensure proper hygiene and stock rotation.

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Train staff on proper handling, cooking, and storage of food.
  • Conduct regular audits to maintain cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.

Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Develop and manage the food service budget to control costs effectively.
  • Monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Keep records of all financial transactions related to food services.

Team Coordination

  • Supervise and schedule kitchen and support staff.
  • Train new employees on kitchen protocols and ensure proper workflow.
  • Coordinate with other departments as necessary to fulfill catering requests.

Customer Service

  • Maintain a positive and professional interaction with customers and clients.
  • Address and resolve any customer concerns regarding food quality or service.
  • Continuously seek feedback to improve the food service experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree , Nutrition, Hospitality, or a related field, Hotel Management
  • Proven experience in food service management or as a kitchen supervisor.
  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions, nutrition, and food safety regulations.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
  • Food safety certification (preferred).

Working Conditions:

  • May require evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Fast-paced kitchen environment with a focus on time management and quality.
