Android Application Developer
Purpose:
Responsible for developing and maintaining android applications of SoM software. The Android Application Developer will work closely with the System Architect and other team members to support the overall objectives of the Software team.
Areas Of Responsibility:
Application Development:
Design, develop, and maintain payment and automotive cluster applications.
Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
Security and Compliance:
Implement security measures to protect user data and ensure compliance with industry standards, including PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard).
Stay updated with the latest security trends and incorporate them into the application.
Integration and Testing:
Integrate payment gateways and APIs, including payment related libraries.
Conduct thorough testing of the application, including unit tests, integration tests, and UI tests.
Automate testing processes to ensure high-quality releases.
Credit Card Payment Systems:
Develop and integrate credit card payment processing features.
Ensure secure handling of credit card information in compliance with PCI DSS.
Work with various payment processors and gateways to facilitate credit card transactions.
Automotive Cluster App Development:
Design and develop applications for automotive clusters on Android.
Ensure seamless integration with vehicle systems and compliance with automotive standards.
Optimize applications for performance and reliability in automotive environments.
Collaborate with automotive engineers to align application functionality with vehicle requirements.
Automotive Standards and Certification:
Ensure applications comply with automotive industry standards such as IATF 16949, AEC-Q100, and AEC-Q200.
Stay updated with the latest automotive standards and incorporate them into the development process.
Work with certification bodies to achieve necessary certifications for automotive applications.
User Experience:
Develop UX/UI to create a seamless and intuitive user experience.
Gather and address user feedback to improve the application.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with the latest Android development trends and technologies.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
Experience and Qualification:
5-10 years of experience in Android application development.
Proven experience with payment applications and integrating payment gateways.
Experience with Agile project management and issue tracking using tools such as JIRA.
Experience in developing applications for automotive clusters on Android.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks.
Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines.
Familiarity with continuous integration
Technical And Behavioural Skills:
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Java or Kotlin.
Experience with Android Studio and Gradle.
Knowledge of mobile payment technologies and standards.
Familiarity with tools such as:
Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI.
Version Control Systems: Git, SVN.
Issue Tracking and Project Management Tools: JIRA, Confluence.
Testing Frameworks: JUnit, Espresso, Mockito.
Understanding of PCI DSS requirements and best practices.
Experience with payment processing libraries such as POSLib and POSBridge.
Knowledge of automotive standards and protocols, including IATF 16949, AEC-Q100, and AEC-Q200
Behavioural Skills:
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
