About the role

As a International Business Development Manager, you will drive revenue growth, manage key accounts, identify new opportunities, develop tailored sales strategies, collaborate with internal teams, and ensure compliance to support the expansion of Godrej Industries' Chemicals product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities :

Revenue growth and market expansion:

• Enhance revenue, profit, and market share with existing and new business accounts through strategic planning
• Develop prospective areas and new market channel partners to achieve consistent business growth

Networking, relationship building, and stakeholder management:

• Actively network to establish key relationships and identify new opportunities in the Biotech business
• Develop close relationships with internal stakeholders, local sales teams, and represent customer needs to ensure effective communication and follow-up on technical/commercial proposals and contracts

Business development planning and execution:

• Develop and maintain a structured business development plan with frequent account visits, active participation in tradeshows, and assistance in marketing activities
• Prepare individual business development action plans aligned with the business strategy, ensuring a targeted approach that contributes to overall business growth

Sales strategy and market monitoring:

• Develop account-specific sales strategies for global key accounts to achieve defined business targets
• Monitor the global chemical biotech market to identify trends and tailor sales approaches to current and future client needs

Customer engagement and opportunity maximisation:

• Act as the focal point for customer inquiries, ensuring professional responses and maximising opportunities by identifying and following up on sales leads
• Actively follow up on all commercial proposals, conduct client presentations, negotiate, and close business deals

Compliance and collaboration:

• Work closely with the regulatory team to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for cross-border movements and imports
• Collaborate with the R&D Application team for new product/application initiatives and maintain business development databases, including the Sales Pipeline

Legal agreement management:

• Ensure global legal agreements are finalised, signed, and archived appropriately between Godrej Chemicals and the client

Regions of Interest – North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa, South-East Asia & Far East

Who are we looking for?

Education :

Graduate or postgraduate degree in Chemicals

An MBA in Sales and Marketing is preferred

Experience :

Over 10 years of relevant experience

Skills :

Strategic agility with an understanding of international and domestic business trends

Excellent B2B selling skills, including business development and key account management

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to influence without authority

Innovative thinking and a proactive approach

Good negotiation skills

Strong technical orientation to understand our product lines

Strong business acumen and financial understanding

Executive presence to build top-level customer relationships
