United Plantations Limited (UPL), a subsidiary of the Cheran Group, is preparing to launch healthy beverages in select markets across India. This new venture marks UPL's entry into the health and wellness sector, focusing on functional beverages that support gut health and immunity. Leveraging its expertise in tea production and tapping into the growing demand for wellness products, UPL plans to introduce innovative, fusion-flavored drinks.
Cheran Group is a diversified conglomerate with interests in Education, Construction, Real Estate, Finance, Technology, and Plantations. Headquartered in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, the group operates globally and comprises 29 companies, trusts, and societies. United Plantations Limited manages Terrace Estate, a 1,200-acre property in the Nilgiris, known for producing high-quality Green, Orthodox, and Specialty teas. Originally established under Brooke Bond Limited, the estate has maintained its reputation as one of South India's finest tea producers.
Job Summary:
As the Marketing Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating with the external branding and marketing agency to ensure the successful execution of marketing campaigns. You will oversee day-to-day communication with the agency, ensuring that all marketing initiatives align with the company's vision and objectives. You will also manage campaign timelines, budgets, and performance metrics to ensure brand consistency and success in the marketplace. you will lead the strategy and execution for all online sales channels, with a strong focus on direct-to-consumer (D2C) and e-commerce including quick commerce. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth through online platforms, optimizing the digital customer experience, and overseeing e-commerce sales operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison between UPL and the external branding and marketing agency.
- Collaborate with the agency to plan and execute marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with the brand's objectives.
- Manage marketing campaign timelines, deliverables, and budgets, ensuring efficient execution.
- Oversee digital marketing strategies, including social media, SEO, SEM, influencer partnerships, and email campaigns.
- Develop and implement comprehensive D2C and e-commerce sales strategies. Drive online revenue growth through D2C platforms and marketplaces like Amazon, Flipkart, etc. Collaborate with digital marketing teams to optimize SEO, SEM, paid campaigns, and performance marketing to drive traffic and conversions. Analyze customer data and market trends to refine sales strategies, enhance customer acquisition, and increase retention. Build relationships with e-commerce platforms and manage key accounts to ensure optimal product placement and promotions. Monitor and report key e-commerce metrics, including conversion rates, customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), and return on ad spend (ROAS).
- Coordinate with internal teams such as product development, sales, and logistics to ensure cohesive communication across departments.
- Monitor and report on marketing campaign performance, providing actionable insights and feedback to optimize future campaigns.
- Ensure that all creative assets and marketing materials adhere to brand guidelines.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and partners involved in marketing initiatives.
- Keep up to date with market trends, competitors, and consumer behavior to provide strategic input for marketing campaigns.
- Support the launch of new products by working closely with the sales team to align marketing efforts with business goals.
- Collaborate with the logistics and supply chain teams to ensure efficient order fulfillment and delivery. Stay updated with e-commerce and digital trends to ensure the brand remains competitive in the market.
Qualifications:
MBA in marketing or a related field with 10+ years of experience in which 5+ years of experience in marketing within the FMCG or beverage industry.
Key Competencies required:
- Proven experience in coordinating with external agencies for marketing campaign execution
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Knowledge of digital marketing strategies, including social media, SEO, SEM, and influencer marketing
- Proven track record of driving growth through online channels
- Expertise in using analytics tools to track and improve online sales performance
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience working with digital marketing teams to execute sales strategies
- Ability to manage multiple e-commerce platforms and navigate the D2C space
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
- Experience in a startup environment is a plus
- Prior experience in launching new products in a digital-first environment is preferred.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
