What we are looking for
Role: SQL Database Administrator
Experience Range: 5 – 7 Years
Location: Bangalore/Chennai
Must-Have:
Good knowledge of MS SQL platform.
Creates and maintains all databases required for development, testing, and production usage
Knowledge on PG Sysbase.
Proven working experience as an Oracle Database administrator.
Working knowledge across multiple infrastructure components with strong experience on the database perimeter.
Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications.
Excellent knowledge of Oracle RDBMS (all versions) architecture & design.
Managing Primary DBA roles for multiple applications.
Migrate database, monitoring tools, scheduling tool, middleware, interfaces, and applications.
Establish, revise, and maintain standards and procedures.
Provide performance tuning services.
Performs ongoing tuning of the database instances.
Troubleshoot database and application issues.
Define & manage standards to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security, and performance.
Control migration of database changes through the development life cycle.
Install new versions of the database and its tools and any other tools that access the database.
Participate and provide expertise in system capacity planning efforts.
Evaluate releases of databases and its tools, and third-party products.
Provides technical support to application development teams.
Administers all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages, and procedures.
Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases.
Create new Microsoft SQL Server instances and configure them, including Always On availability groups and failover clustering.
Facilitate brainstorming meetings with clients to review, analyse, and assess business systems and needs.
In charge of database backup and recovery methods, database access security and integrity, physical data storage design, and data storage administration.
Assists in the selection of a database management system and the maintenance of database performance.
Participate in continuous process improvement.
Download and install SQL Server service packs and updates.
Configure and maintain SQL Security controls.
Make recommendations for system architecture per Microsoft SQL Server best practices.
Manage database backup and recovery, as well as disaster recovery planning, in coordination with the IT manager and System Engineer.
Create, change, and improve SQL Server Agent tasks and maintenance plans.
Proactively monitor SQL Server maintenance tasks, troubleshoot failed processes, and address issues as soon as possible.
Troubleshoot application sluggishness and poor performance.
In charge of T-SQL query tuning.
In charge of database migrations and server updates.
Create documentation and training for routine database administration activities, as well as train server operations employees on them.
