What we are looking for


Role: SQL Database Administrator

Experience Range: 5 – 7 Years

Location: Bangalore/Chennai



Must-Have:


  • nsure all data managed under the DBMS is backed up and recoverable to any point in time;
  • Perform recoveries; refreshes; imports/ exports of data on request;
  • Install, maintain, configure databases and associated services on an ongoing basis;
  • Support and Maintain the Database versions and maintenance levels within guidelines provided by our vendors;
  • Perform performance and tuning activities on the Databases;
  • Manage database security and controls around privileged access;
  • Enforce Databases standards across databases;
  • Install, Maintain and configure tools associated with databases;
  • Follow technical direction and advice to all of the Database Administrators on all aspects of running Databases for that particular technology across the organisation;
  • Display competency in Risk & Audit Management and work effectively with various audit teams;
  • Design and develop SSIS packages, Deploy SSIS packages.
  • Engage vendors to achieve solutions that address root cause in the respective environments;

Experience requirement.

  • Detailed knowledge of SQL Database management processes and architecture
  • Marked ability to communicate and articulate technology discussions in relation to Databases at both technical and business levels.
  • A Minimum of 8 years’ experience as an SQL server database engineer ;
  • Extensive experience with building & supporting the latest versions of SQL Clustered Environments is required
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in building and designing SQL RDBMS
  • Knowledge and experience in SQL high Availability frameworks
  • Strong knowledge on designing, developing and deploying SSIS packages.
  • Thorough understanding of SQL performance analysis and tuning / capacity planning / query optimization
  • Experience in writing SQL scripts and PowerShell
  • Experience in setup up monitoring & Automation tools.
  • Collaborate with Architecture and Design to review, comment and implement recommendations;
  • Assist with Database Capacity reviews with direction from more senior members of the Database team;
  • Enforce database standards, and support developers
  • Provide Project Support to all new systems being developed for the Business;
  • Provide updates on a daily basis for all of the work performed which is input to the monthly Productivity statistics;
  • Attend weekly technical meetings and provide feedback on activities retrospectively;
  • Review reports coming into the area with a view to applying continuous improvement to improve the experience of our customers;
  • Write technical documentation on the SQL designs, deployments as well as procedures, ensure that reflect the correct operating procedures for Database Administrator.
