The Duolingo English Test is an alternative to traditional high-stakes testing — through a Duolingo-style experience: convenient, fast, and affordable. Students interested in studying abroad can certify their English with the Duolingo English Test in place of other standardized tests like the TOEFL and IELTS. We are now accepted by over 5,500+ higher education institutions worldwide. Using AI and remote proctoring, we enable students to take the test online, on-demand, anywhere in the world. We are looking for an experienced B2B Marketing Manager , who can help us accelerate the Duolingo English Test growth via our partnerships with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of marketing strategy, partnerships, social media, running events and will be able to take ownership of projects independently. As a core member of our India team, the ideal candidate will not only be an exceptional, self-motivated individual with a ‘can do’ attitude, who can absorb and understand our overall market strategy, but is also a proactive and team-oriented communicator.
This is a full -time contractor position with the Duolingo English Test, and compensation will be structured for the role accordingly.
You will…
Work closely with India leadership (both in marketing and business development) to leverage market insights and develop and execute co-marketing plans —including social media, PR, events, collateral and campaigns— with our prioritized partners across key geographies.
Have the ability to organize, run and represent the DET at events, meetups, and conferences to bring students and stakeholders together and drive up awareness of the brand in local markets.
Work with our agency partners to develop marketing collateral (both digital and physical) for our stakeholders, and ensure timely deliveries to partners offices or events when required. This includes: merchandise, pamphlets, brochures, standees, social media templates, and more.
Make sure all partner marketing campaigns are aligned with DET’s branding, are factual, and are updated with the brand’s current messaging and guidelines.
Monitor and analyze engagement metrics, user feedback, and community sentiment. Be ready to tweak local marketing efforts and adjust the plan based on learnings. Prepare regular reports and dashboards to track progress and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
Partner with other functions across the region and in the US, to be able to share insights and learnings around India, one of the most critical and important markets for the Duolingo English Test.
You have…
7-10 years of marketing experience (particularly on the B2B front), either as a client or on the agency side. This should include being able to run campaigns including events and social media communities and PR.
Hands-on experience in conceiving, developing, and running marketing and communication ideas throughout the marketing funnel.
Strong grasp of the education and edtech sector in India. A strong understanding on what the motivators are for the youth, especially those who would be keen to study abroad.
The ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment and need to establish expectations and rationale on deliverables for stakeholders and contributors.
Track record of achieving great results with ideas, rather than managing large budgets.
Experience working as part of a remote team, building strong HQ relationships and influencing effectively for local market needs.
Strong English speaking and writing skills, knowledge of Gujarati, or Telugu is a plus.
Is currently based in Mumbai or New Delhi.
