Reports to: Lead Integration Engineer / Engineering Manager
Responsibilities
System Integration: Integrate electrical systems in EVs, ensuring the compatibility and communication between the powertrain, battery systems, vehicle control systems, and other electronic modules.
Collaboration with Design Teams: Work closely with design engineers, software developers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure that electrical components meet performance, reliability, and safety standards.
Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing of integrated systems, including functional testing, system-level validation, and performance benchmarking to ensure all systems operate as intended.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Analyze and resolve integration issues and vehicle faults, providing technical support during development and post-production phases.
Electrical Schematics & Wiring Diagrams: Review and contribute to the development of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout designs to support integration and vehicle assembly.
Compliance and Standards: Ensure all systems and components comply with relevant automotive safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices (e.g., ISO 26262, UNECE).
Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in electrical systems integration and work on optimizing efficiency, power management, and performance.
Project Management: Collaborate with project managers to define project timelines, deliverables, and milestones for electrical vehicle integration tasks.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in electrical system integration, preferably in the automotive or electric vehicle industry.
Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, vehicle control networks (CAN, LIN), battery systems, power electronics, and electric drivetrains.
Experience with vehicle-level integration, including knowledge of charging systems, battery management systems (BMS), and energy management systems (EMS).
Proficiency in using system modeling tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink), diagnostic tools, and electrical testing equipment.
Familiarity with safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61851) and relevant regulations for electric vehicles.
Hands-on experience with vehicle hardware and embedded systems integration.
Problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Skills:
Master’s degree in Electrical or Automotive Engineering.
Experience with high-voltage systems and components in electric vehicles.
Familiarity with embedded software development for vehicle control units (VCU) and motor controllers.
Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols and diagnostic tools.
Experience with automotive simulation and modeling software.
Familiarity with the design and integration of autonomous vehicle systems.
