Our client is a leading US-based accounting and taxation advisory firm, renowned for delivering high-quality services including tax planning, compliance, and business advisory. With a presence in multiple global markets, the firm is focused on expanding its operations in India. They are looking for an experienced India Operations Head to lead their business growth in India, manage cross-functional teams, and bridge the cultural gap between the Indian and US offices. This role requires strong leadership, cultural intelligence, and the ability to drive performance while fostering seamless collaboration between both regions.
The India Operations Head will be responsible for driving business growth, leading operations, and managing the integration between Indian and US teams. This position requires a leader who understands both Indian and US business cultures and can leverage this knowledge to create an environment of mutual respect, trust, and high performance.
Strategic Business Expansion: Identify new business opportunities, build client relationships, and drive revenue growth.
Cross-Cultural Leadership: Bridge the cultural gap between Indian and US teams, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and understanding of business practices across regions.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead a diverse, multi-location team of accounting professionals, tax advisors, and business support staff. Foster an inclusive and high-performance culture that encourages collaboration and alignment across different geographies.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing them with top-tier advisory services and ensuring that both local and global teams deliver consistent value.
Market Intelligence: Continuously monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities in India to stay ahead of the curve and adjust strategies accordingly.
Manage the financial performance of the India office, ensuring that budget targets are met, and operational costs are effectively managed.
Implement global best practices while tailoring solutions to the local Indian market. Lead innovation in both service delivery and internal operations to improve efficiency and client satisfaction.
Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of senior leadership experience in accounting, taxation, or advisory services, with experience managing cross-functional teams across different locations.
Cultural Intelligence: Understanding of both Indian and US work cultures, business practices, and communication styles.
Experience in leading and motivating diverse teams, driving collaboration, and managing complex, cross-geography projects.
Strong ability to create and execute business strategies that drive growth while adapting to local market dynamics.
Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Indian tax laws, accounting regulations, and international advisory standards. Experience in both compliance and advisory services is essential.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to facilitate understanding and alignment between Indian and US teams at all levels.
Education: CA (Chartered Accountant) or equivalent in accounting, taxation, or business management. An MBA or similar management qualification is a plus.
