Job Purpose: A Design System is more than just a library of components—it’s a philosophy, a product, and a tool for enabling teams to deliver world-class experiences faster. We’re seeking a Senior Design System Designer with the passion, expertise, and drive to shape and evolve our design system into a best-in-class product. You’ll collaborate across design, engineering, and product teams to create scalable systems that balance creativity and utility, while championing consistency and innovation
Roles & Responsibilities:
Ownership : Drive the complex convergence of existing design systems, and evolution & adoption of a new system, ensuring it aligns with business needs, brand identity, and user expectations.
Component Creation : Design and document scalable, accessible, and reusable UI components, patterns, and guidelines that empower product teams to build cohesive experiences for banking and finance.
Collaboration : Partner closely with product designers, engineers, product managers, UX writers, motion, and illustration designers to ensure the design system is comprehensive and well-integrated into the product development lifecycle.
Documentation & Governance : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, ensuring the design system is easily understandable, discoverable, and usable by all stakeholders.
Accessibility : Embed accessibility best practices into the design system, ensuring components meet WCAG standards and are inclusive for all users.
Design Tokens & Specs : Define and manage design tokens, providing developers with precise implementation guidelines.
Advocacy : Act as a champion for the design system within the organization, hosting workshops, presentations, and feedback sessions to drive adoption and alignment.
Quality Assurance : Continuously audit the design system’s usage across products, identify inconsistencies, and evolve the system to meet new challenges.
Innovation : Stay ahead of industry trends, tools, and frameworks to ensure the design system remains innovative and future-proof.
Key Skills:
Technical Proficiency : Advanced knowledge of Figma (including components, auto-layout, variables, and libraries), design tokens, and tools like Zeroheight/Storybook. An understanding of front-end frameworks like React, Flutter, HTML/CSS is a strong plus
Design Expertise : Deep expertise in UI design, information architecture, accessibility, and responsive design principles.
Problem Solving : Strong analytical skills and a system-thinking mindset to solve for scalability, consistency, and flexibility across a wide range of use cases.
Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate the purpose, principles, and value of the design system to diverse stakeholders.
Leadership : Experience mentoring designers and influencing cross-functional teams to adopt and contribute to a unified design system.
Portfolio : A portfolio showcasing your role in building or maintaining a design system, including documentation and real-world implementation examples.
Experience: 5-7 years
