The Koneru Lakshmaiah Charities was established as a trust in 1980, with its official address at Museum Road, Governorpet, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh 520002, and started K L College of Engineering in the academic year 1980-81.
K L Deemed to be University was established in 1980-81 as K L College of Engineering, which was upgraded to K L College of Engineering Autonomous in 2006 by the UGC and was declared a Deemed to be University in 2009 by the UGC, MHRD, Government of India. In 2012, as a Deemed to be University, the institution was accredited by NAAC with an A grade, and later in 2018, it was re-accredited by NAAC with an A++ grade. In 2019, UGC, MHRD declared this institution a Category I Institution.
K L Deemed to be University is situated on a spacious 100-acre campus, with a built-up area of over 2,000,000 square feet, on the banks of the Buckingham Canal of the Krishna River. The campus is eight kilo meters from Vijayawada city. Built within a rural setting of verdant green fields, the institute is a virtual paradise of pristine nature and idyllic beauty. The campus has been aptly named "Green Fields," and the splendid avenue of trees and gardens testifies to the importance of ecology and the environment. The campus ambiance is most befitting for scholastic pursuits.

Teaching:
• Develop and evaluate course curriculum in alignment with the University's academic standards.

• Assess student learning through various methods, including exams, projects, and presentations.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments and assessments.
Research:
• Engage in scholarly research and contribute to the body of knowledge in the respective field.
• Publish research findings in reputable journals, present at conferences, and participate in academic forums.
• Collaborate with colleagues and students on research projects.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in the field and integrate new knowledge into teaching and research activities.
Service:
• Contribute to the academic community by participating in committees, departmental meetings, and other institutional activities.
• Provide academic advisement to students, guiding them in their educational and career goals.
• Participate in outreach activities and engage with the broader community through workshops, seminars, or public lectures.
