The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to lead the successful delivery of software projects for our offshore clients. As a Scrum Master, you will be at the forefront of guiding teams through Agile methodologies, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with exceptional quality. You’ll work closely with internal teams (Development, UX/UI, QA) and clients to remove obstacles, enhance team dynamics, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Software Project Delivery
- End-to-End Delivery: Lead software projects from inception to deployment, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Agile Practices: Drive Agile project delivery by organizing sprints, planning sessions, and facilitating Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives).
- Monitor Progress & Remove Roadblocks: Continuously track the team's progress and proactively address any obstacles that could hinder project success.
- High-Quality Deliverables: Ensure all features meet the definition of done and satisfy client acceptance criteria.
- Incremental Releases: Oversee iterative product releases that deliver value to the client while allowing flexibility for future adjustments.
Client Engagement and Project Management
- Understand Client Needs: Deeply engage with clients to understand their business, processes, and goals, ensuring that solutions are aligned with both immediate and future needs.
- Client Communication: Serve as the main point of contact between the development team and the client, providing clear communication on project progress, risks, and issues.
- Requirements Gathering: Facilitate workshops and discussions to capture detailed requirements, translating them into actionable user stories and backlog items.
- Client Satisfaction: Ensure that delivered solutions meet client expectations and objectives throughout the project lifecycle.
Team Leadership and Agile Maturity
- Team Support: Foster team efficiency by addressing roadblocks, managing dependencies, and promoting accountability within the team.
- Mentor in Agile Practices: Guide teams to fully understand and effectively implement Agile methodologies, driving continuous improvement.
- Optimise Performance: Use Agile metrics (velocity, burn-down charts) to monitor performance and recommend improvements.
- Promote Best Practices: Advocate for continuous improvement and implement best practices within the team to enhance software delivery performance.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Experience: 5-8+ years of experience as a Scrum Master with a proven track record in delivering software projects using Agile methodologies.
- Certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PSM, or equivalent Agile certification (SAFe) preferred.
- Agile Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and experience driving software project delivery from concept to release.
- Leadership & Facilitation: Strong ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams to achieve project success.
- Technical Understanding: Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and ability to collaborate with technical teams.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills (spoken and written English) to manage stakeholders and resolve project challenges proactively.
- Tools Proficiency: Expertise in Agile tools such as Jira, Trello, or Azure DevOps.
- Global Collaboration: Experience working with distributed or offshore teams is a plus.
