Senior Performance Engineer

Oracle is looking for Senior Applications Engineer to be part of Health Sciences product development group in Bangalore with strong knowledge on performance engineering, Oracle Database Architecture, SQL and PLSQL Tuning Skills and Data Modelling. In this role you will be instrumental in ensuring our application perform at their peak, delivering a seamless and enjoyable experience for the end users. Deep dive into our database to identify bottleneck and implement creative solutions to optimize performance of our database.
Responsibilities:
- Expertise in Oracle database 11g /12c/18c/19c and data warehouses
- Can re-write complex SQL statements into optimized SQLs for better performance.
- Good Understanding of AWR and ASH reports.
- Can effectively debug and resolve Oracle Performance Tuning Problems.
- Good Understanding in database performance tuning.
- Decent experience in PL/SQL programming.
- Good Understanding of monitoring of database performance metrics (e.g., CPU, memory, disk I/O).
- Analyze query performance and optimize SQL statements.
- Implement indexing strategies for optimal query performance.
- Conduct regular database health checks.
- Design and implement scalable database architectures.
- Good in Shell/Perl/Python/Ruby scripting.
- Basic understanding on Oracle database Security
- Parallel processing - both Unix and database parallel technologies.
- Movement and loading of LARGE quantities of data.
- Basic understanding on partitioning and Oracle compression technologies.
- Basic Understanding of Storage Technologies & Virtualization.
- Good in Solution Architecture and sizing of Oracle Databases.
- Ability to scope and define benchmark projects
- Support database performance by monitoring, Knowledge of optimization and fine-tuning techniques
- Good in UNIX shell scripting or Sound knowledge in UNIX/operating systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
BS/MS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent. Graduate degree (M.Tech./M.S./B.Tech./M.Sc./M.C.A.) with aggregate of 60% or above
- Total of over 4+ years of experience and Data modeling experience and strong knowledge Data warehousing, ETL and SQL concepts.
- Passion for engineering and solving very complex engineering problems that delights customers
Knowledge in Oracle 11g or 12c, any specific application level language working knowledge is always helpful
- Candidate must have solid understanding of Oracle Database, SQL & BI technology
- Experience in Performance Benchmarks of products
- Experience in SQL, database tuning, capacity planning based on the performance of the application is a plus
- Solid programming experience and very strong in programming disciplines like object oriented principles, design patterns, data structures and unit testing
- Strong & excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to dive in and learn complex systems
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
- Ability to provide technical and people leadership to the team
Experience with customer interactions is always a big plus
- Analyze database logs and error messages.
Collaborate with development teams to resolve database-related issues
