Key Responsibilities:
Backend & Platform Engineering: Utilize 3-6 years of solid experience in backend and platform engineering to build, optimize, and scale our platform.
Coding & Debugging: Write, test, and debug high-quality code with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently.
Leadership: Lead a small, mission-aligned team to deliver large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Research & Development: Conduct R&D on new infrastructure components, rapidly driving POCs and integrating them into our stack (e.g., Kong, Loki, Athena, Redshift Spectrum, Data Archival).
Best Practices: Establish and enforce best practices for developer productivity and platform performance.
SQL Optimization: Champion SQL optimization, ensuring efficient database queries and performance.
Kubernetes Expertise: Leverage your experience with Kubernetes (K8) to optimize and maintain our infrastructure.
Cost Efficiency: Drive cost-efficient infrastructure solutions, optimizing resource usage without compromising performance.
Observability & Performance: Utilize and enhance our observability stack to monitor and optimize the performance of microservices.
Startup Environment: Thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, delivering high-impact projects with ambitious timelines and a high degree of ownership.
Key Qualifications:
Must Haves-
3-6 years of backend and platform engineering experience with strong coding and debugging skills.
Expertise in SQL optimization, Kubernetes (K8), and cost-efficient infrastructure.
Proven ability to lead small teams and deliver large projects independently.
Experience with observability stacks for optimizing microservices and driving performance improvements.
Ability to research, test, and integrate new infrastructure components (e.g., Kong, Loki, Athena).
Adaptable to startup environments with a high degree of ownership and self-motivation.
Good-to-Have Skills
Experience with data engineering and large-scale data ingestion (non-RDBMS).
Familiarity with tools like RabbitMQ, Kafka, Kinesis, Athena, and Redshift Spectrum.
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
