About the Role:
The role of the Commissioning Manager - Electrical will be characterised by both dynamism and entrepreneurship and will necessitate a sharp eye for detail and effective communication skills. The successful candidate will have the requisite technical expertise and project management experience to oversee and carry out efficient delivery of projects across diverse construction market sectors such as Data Centres, Commercial Real Estate and Hotels.
Key Responsibilities:
Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Oversee the entire commissioning process of electrical systems and equipment (including transformers, switchgear, uninterruptible power supplies, generators, and electrical distribution panels), ensuring systems are installed, tested, and commissioned according to project requirements.
Plan, coordinate, and lead commissioning activities, working closely with construction, engineering, and operations teams to ensure project objectives are met.
Ensure electrical systems integrate seamlessly with mechanical, control, and IT systems, maintaining redundancy and reliability for mission-critical operations.
Develop detailed commissioning plans, procedures, test scripts, and final handover documentation, ensuring all electrical systems and commissioning processes comply with relevant standards and codes.
Coordinate and lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), ensuring all equipment functions correctly before site integration.
Lead and mentor commissioning engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, providing guidance and support throughout the commissioning process.
About You:
Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience commissioning electrical systems such as UPS, RMU, switchgear, generators, PDU in Data Centres or other mission-critical environments.
Capability to review designs with a commissioning perspective is essential
Experience writing Testing Scripts for functional performance testing (FPT) and Integrated System Testing (IST) and leading the team to perform these tests in Data Centres is essential.
Demonstrated experience managing commissioning schedules, budgets, and resources. Project management certification (PMP or similar) is a plus.
Proficiency in Electrical Design Software (e.g. Auto CAD, ETAP), Project Management Tools (e.g. MS Project), Commissioning Tools (e.g. Cx Alloy, Procore, Compass) and familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.
Strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to communicate effectively with project stakeholders, contractors, and technical teams.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly.
