Position Description
Title: Engineer/ Sr Engineer - Design
Qualification & Experience
Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering.
3-6 years of experience in Product design. Experience in automotive domain preferred
Description:
The Design Engineer is responsible for design of new or existing products, in line with planning, process, quality targets. He/she produces complete engineering designs translated in CAD models and creates all the associated documentation with in PDM systems.
Principle Accountability
• Creation / Modifications of 3D models using standard CAD software.
• Strong in preparation of drawings with basic GD&T or as per references.
• Knowledge of Sheetmetal/Casting/Forging manufacturing Processes.
• Communicate with the customer on day to day activities.
• Prepare and maintain engineering release and change documents (PDM)
• Execute projects to meet the customer's time line and quality requirements.
• Participate in GAP meeting and update information GAP boards timely
• Actively participate in employee involvement/ Continuos Improvement activities /knowledge management initiatives.
Must have the following experience:
• Experience on CAD tools - Catia V5 & UG NX.
• General Engineering knowledge, Automobile, strength of material etc
• Exposure to design and development environment.
• Experience on design standards and drafting guidelines.
Following are the added advantages:
• Exposure to Exhaust system design.
• Multi tool skills, more than one CAD software expereince
• Experience in working with PLM.
• Exposure to product development process .
• Experience on quality systems TS16946.
Other requirements:
• Must be good in spoken and written English communication.
• Good attitude and discipline is essential to work as a team.
• Positive attitude , commitment & accountability.
• Willing to add value through creativity & innovation.
• International mind set , ability to work with international customers.
