Head Accountant

About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Head Accountant to lead our finance and accounting function. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounts, oversee financial reporting, drive compliance, streamline processes, and ensure smooth financial operations for a fast-growing organization.This is a hybrid role , requiring a mix of in-office presence and remote working.Key Responsibilities1. Financial Management & ReportingOversee complete accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, and reconciliationsPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsMaintain MIS reports and present financial insights to leadershipTrack cash flow, budgets, and expenses for all departments2. Compliance & AuditEnsure compliance with GST, TDS, PF/ESI, Income Tax, and other statutory requirementsCoordinate with external auditors for statutory and internal auditsPrepare and file all monthly/quarterly returns on time3. Process Management & ControlsSet up and refine internal financial controlsCreate SOPs for accounting workflows and approval processesImplement cost-control measures and improve financial efficiencyMaintain accuracy and timeliness of all financial data4. Vendor & Client Finance ManagementMonitor vendor payments, contracts, and reconciliationManage client invoicing, collections, and follow-upsMaintain transparent records of outstanding receivables and payablesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance (B.Com / M.Com)CA / CMA (intermediate or final) preferred but not mandatory5–10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or lead roleStrong knowledge of Tally / Zoho Books / QuickBooks or similar accounting toolsExcellent understanding of GST, TDS, compliance rules, and audit processesSkills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and numerical abilityHigh ownership and attention to detailAbility to manage deadlines and multitaskGood communication and interdepartmental coordinationIntegrity, confidentiality, and professionalismProblem-solving mindsetWork EnvironmentHybrid role: 2–3 days in office + flexible remote daysOffice Location: Chandigarh Tricity regionWork with a young, creative, fast-moving team
