Head Accountant

About the Role We are looking for an experienced Head Accountant to lead our finance and accounting function. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounts, oversee financial reporting, drive compliance, streamline processes, and ensure smooth financial operations for a fast-growing organization. This is a hybrid role , requiring a mix of in-office presence and remote working. Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Management & Reporting Oversee complete accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, and reconciliations Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Maintain MIS reports and present financial insights to leadership Track cash flow, budgets, and expenses for all departments 2. Compliance & Audit Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, PF/ESI, Income Tax, and other statutory requirements Coordinate with external auditors for statutory and internal audits Prepare and file all monthly/quarterly returns on time 3. Process Management & Controls Set up and refine internal financial controls Create SOPs for accounting workflows and approval processes Implement cost-control measures and improve financial efficiency Maintain accuracy and timeliness of all financial data 4. Vendor & Client Finance Management Monitor vendor payments, contracts, and reconciliation Manage client invoicing, collections, and follow-ups Maintain transparent records of outstanding receivables and payables Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance (B.Com / M.Com) CA / CMA (intermediate or final) preferred but not mandatory 5–10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or lead role Strong knowledge of Tally / Zoho Books / QuickBooks or similar accounting tools Excellent understanding of GST, TDS, compliance rules, and audit processes Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and numerical ability High ownership and attention to detail Ability to manage deadlines and multitask Good communication and interdepartmental coordination Integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism Problem-solving mindset Work Environment Hybrid role: 2–3 days in office + flexible remote days Office Location: Chandigarh Tricity region Work with a young, creative, fast-moving team
