Role Summary
As the (Associate Director of Finance) at Yuma, you will assume a pivotal leadership role, overseeing and directing the financial operations of our innovative battery-as-a-service business. This position demands extensive financial expertise, strategic vision, and strong leadership capabilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, providing financial analysis to support strategic decisions, and leading the development and enhancement of financial controls and processes within the organization. In addition, you will play a key role in supporting fundraising activities to support future growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee cash flow forecasting and planning, including foreign currency needs. Proactively identify potential cash flow deficiencies and promptly inform senior management to address any issues.
• Perform financial and business case analysis to support key strategic business decisions.
• Prepare annual budget and quarterly forecasts while working closely with operations, purchasing and other departments across the organization.
• Support fundraising activities by identifying, developing and maintaining relationships with potential investors.
• Analyse operational efficiencies and implement programs to control and reduce costs.
• Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, regulatory bodies, and senior management, to ensure transparency and alignment with strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with audit personnel and managers to design, implement, and monitor effective internal control functions. Gather and analyse feedback to ensure robust financial processes.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks by understanding current processes, recognizing company weaknesses, facilitating employee training, and communicating opportunities to enhance asset protection.
• Manage financial reporting standards, oversee the preparation of financial statements by the finance team, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of all financial reports.
Key Requirements
• Chartered Accountant with 10+ years of experience in financial management, including a proven track record in leadership roles.
• Extensive experience with financial reporting systems and a deep understanding of Accounting and Reporting Standards (Ind AS/IFRS) and their practical application.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a finance team, manage complex financial operations, and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the executive level.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and effectively to senior management and other stakeholders.
• Preference for candidates with experience in North American MNCs as well as Start-ups or Greenfield set-ups.
