Position: Sales Manager


Cyient has established a strong presence in Design Led Electronics Manufacturing (DLM) Services across multiple industry segments. To sustain and deepen our presence in this services area, we are searching for a results-oriented sales leader who strives for excellence, is energized by new challenges, and is looking to expand key partnerships at a customer executive level. As a Sales Manager in India, she or he will operate with a high degree of autonomy to drive DLM business for Cyient across Aerospace, Defense, Medical, Life Sciences, Industrial, and Automotive accounts in India . This leader will collaborate with executives within and outside of DLM to achieve strategic goals that directly impact our evolving market demands. This position will also be the “voice of the customer” inside our organization, actively shaping the strategy, investment decisions, and new offerings to the market. The candidate must demonstrate consistently superior sales performance and ability to influence, direct, and inspire the cross-functional teams to achieve the BU/organization goals.


Candidates must have an established track record of sales performance, delivering industry-leading growth, winning new customers, and establishing multimillion-dollar sustaining businesses with experience in selling Design and Manufacturing Solutions. The candidate must be able to work with the Cyient teams to develop sales strategies and offerings for Aerospace, Defense, Medical, Life Sciences, Industrial, and Automotive accounts in India. The Candidate must possess strong communication skills, priority management, and the ability to work autonomously as well as with multidisciplinary teams spread over diverse geographic regions and time zones.


This role requires customer interaction at multiple disciplines and levels, as well as coordination & interaction at multiple levels within Cyient. The ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the customer enterprise that lead to the continuous growth of business opportunities is critical. One of the key attributes we are looking for is the ability to consultatively engage with Executive leaders in Key customer organizations to define and develop business cases for Design Led Manufacturing solutions.


The position will be based in India and will involve regular travel to target customer locations.


Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for order intake, revenue, and profit targets for target Key accounts.
  • Position Cyient to significantly grow the DLM business with existing Key customers and win new business, and expand Cyient’s presence within existing accounts.
  • Develop business cases and proposal strategies and lead overall proposal activities for customers' Requests for Proposals.
  • Develop proactive, unsolicited offers by identifying potential white space opportunities in the customer accounts.
  • Provide timely forecasts of revenue, business capture, sales and orders booking, and status of pursuits and proposals.
  • Lead internal teams in influencing/understanding the customer RFP requirements and the competition and providing a Win Strategy.
  • Responsible for contributing to overall Customer Satisfaction through the provision of feedback & assurance of clear and consistent communication between the customer and the leadership team.
  • Generate, maintain, and present sales management artifacts and tools such as strategic sales plans, account plans, sales funnels, capture plans, and order forecasts.
  • Responsible for contributing to sales strategy and execution.
  • Ensure adherence to Cyient contractual policies and procedures, as well as to company legal and Ethical policies.
  • Coach and support sales team, participate in workshops, knowledge sharing and strategy sessions with Business Development, Strategy, Marketing and Technical teams as requested.
  • Diligent use of Salesforce to track and maintain account data.


Skills and Knowledge

  • 10+ years’ of Sales experience in the Electronics Manufacturing Industry , Project Management, and Group Management, out of which 7+ years in Sales with a strong consultative-selling ability and proven track record of large deal closure.Knowledge of domestic and international customer business environments with exposure to Manufacturing industries.
  • Ability to elaborate and demonstrate a track record of success.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sales and marketing principles and concepts.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, as well as effective presentation skills.
  • Ability to present business plans and sales strategies to senior and executive management.
  • Skill in opportunity development and opportunity identification, strategic selling, pursuit and capture planning are essential.
  • Strong negotiation skills and customer relationship-building skills are critical.
  • Strong drive to learn new technologies and offerings.
  • Demonstrated leadership traits, with past cross-functional leadership experience a plus.
  • Personal integrity, professionalism, goal-oriented, results-driven self-starter.
  • Requires 30% or more travel.
  • Required Engineering Degree / Post Graduation in Business Administration.
