As a Presales Managed Services Consultant for Data and Application Modernization , you will act as a trusted advisor to prospective clients, guiding them through their modernization journey. You will work closely with sales teams, architects, and technical consultants to design and present customized solutions that modernize their legacy systems, optimize data management, and transition to cloud-native architectures. Your role will involve understanding client requirements, crafting tailored solutions, and driving the technical presales process from initial engagement to proposal development.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Design & Consultation:
- Lead the presales process by engaging with clients to understand their current data management and application landscapes, and identify opportunities for modernization.
- Design and articulate end-to-end solutions for data modernization (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses, data migration, analytics) and application modernization (e.g., cloud-native application development, containerization, microservices, DevOps).
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure the solution architecture aligns with the latest technologies and industry best practices (e.g., cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, AI/ML integration).
Client Engagement & Discovery:
- Conduct workshops, discovery sessions, and executive briefings to assess clients' current data and application challenges, business objectives, and technical requirements.
- Identify key modernization drivers, such as improving data insights, increasing operational agility, enhancing scalability, and optimizing application performance.
Pre-Sales Solution Development:
- Develop tailored proposals, RFP responses, Statements of Work (SOW), and solution documentation that reflect the client’s needs and align with the company’s modernization offerings.
- Provide detailed architecture and solution designs for data and application modernization, including migration strategies, cost-benefit analysis, and risk mitigation.
- Ensure proposals include appropriate managed services models for post-migration support, including monitoring, management, and continuous optimization of modernized environments.
- Technology Demonstrations & Proof of Concepts (PoC):
- Lead product demonstrations, technical presentations, and PoC engagements to validate the proposed solutions and showcase the company’s capabilities in application modernization and data management.
- Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to build out PoCs that validate the client’s business use cases and technical feasibility.
Industry & Market Expertise:
- Stay current with trends in data management, cloud technologies, and application modernization strategies (e.g., serverless computing, microservices, API management, hybrid/multi-cloud environments).
- Continuously analyze competitors’ offerings and market shifts to ensure the company remains competitive in the space.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with account managers, solution architects, and delivery teams to ensure smooth handoffs from presales to implementation, ensuring that solutions are delivered on time and meet client expectations.
- Support the sales team in positioning managed services and ongoing support as part of the value proposition for clients’ long-term modernization goals.
- Internal Enablement:
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and refine sales enablement content, including solution briefs, client-facing presentations, and technical documentation.
- Conduct internal training sessions for sales and technical teams to increase awareness of new solutions and best practices in data and application modernization.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in presales, technical consulting, or solutions architecture with a focus on data and application modernization , including cloud migration, data analytics, and application modernization.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience with cloud-native application development , data migration strategies , big data architectures , and containerization .
- Technical Skills:
- Experience with modern data architectures, including data lakes, data warehouses , and ETL pipelines .
- Familiarity with microservices architecture , serverless computing , Kubernetes , DevOps , and CI/CD pipelines for application modernization.
- Hands-on knowledge of data management tools (e.g., Apache Kafka, Spark, Snowflake, Redshift), AI/ML frameworks , and business intelligence (BI) tools.
- Solid understanding of IT transformation frameworks , such as Agile , DevOps , and ITIL , in the context of managed services.
- Communication & Presentation Skills:
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Experience creating and delivering high-impact presentations, technical proposals, and solution architectures.
- Certifications (Preferred but not required):
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or similar cloud certifications.
- ITIL certification.
- Certifications in data management, cloud-native technologies, or application modernization (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Red Hat OpenShift).
