Job Summary:
We are looking for an Accounts Associate to perform daily finance and accounting tasks that will support our finance team. Your responsibilities will include managing expense reports and reimbursements, entering financial transactions into our internal databases and reconciling invoices. If you have an accounting degree and are interested in gaining experience we’d like to meet you.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Raise daily invoices and record the payment receipts in excel as well as accounting software.
Compile and review financial information, including receipts, invoices, and tax forms.
Accurately record all transactions in the cashbook.
Handle all aspects of tax compliance, GST and ensure adherence to applicable regulations.
Possess basic knowledge in managing accrued income, expenses, revenue, and interest.
Help prepare financial statements and reports, providing insights into the company’s financial status.
Assist with payroll activities, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Work closely with external teams like Chartered Accountants, Legal teams, etc. to provide accurate reports and ensure all financial reporting and legal compliances for the company are done on time.
Perform general administrative tasks such as answering queries from clients or vendors and maintaining filing systems.
Work closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts by analyzing past financial data.
Demonstrates strong work ethics by consistently maintaining accuracy, meeting deadlines, and upholding financial integrity in all tasks.
Skills Required:
Excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and Problem-Solving skills, time management, strong numerical skills.
Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with office software (MS Office, Google Suite more importantly), accounting software (Preferably Zoho Books).
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices, as well as tax laws.
Ability to unlearn and relearn, ability to take and give constructive feedback.
Qualification:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. However, candidates with relevant experience can be considered.
A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant post-qualification experience in accounting, taxation.
