Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee general accounting operations, controlling and verifying financial transactions.

The ideal candidate combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles. They should be able to analyze financial reports and forecasts, reconcile account balances, and maintain a general ledger.

A successful accountant should have experience collaborating and/or managing a team of bookkeepers. They should also be skilled in producing error-free accounting reports and presenting their results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers
  • Prepare financial statements
  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns
  • Plan, assign, and review staff's work
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP principles
  • Liaise with Financial Controllers to improve financial procedures
Required Skills and Qualifications

Skills required for this position include:

  • Relevant certification (e.g., CMA or CPA)
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • General computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Accounting tools: Familiarity with accounting software packages, like Xero and QuickBooks
