Job Title:

A seasoned PostgreSQL database administrator is sought after to oversee the performance, integrity, and security of our database systems.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless data management, optimizing database operations, and implementing robust backup procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL databases across multiple environments.
  • Implement effective indexing and partitioning strategies to improve performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with development teams for schema design, query optimization, and application support.
  • Maintain high availability and disaster recovery setups.
  • Automate routine DBA tasks using shell scripts or Python.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • 10-12 years of proven experience as a PostgreSQL DBA in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture and internals.
  • Deep understanding of database design, performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Expertise in performance monitoring tools (e.g., pg_stat_statements, pgBadger).
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation.
  • Experience with replication (logical/streaming), partitioning, and connection pooling.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems and cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure).
