Senior Systems Development Lead

This role involves leading a team to develop innovative system solutions for medical devices. The candidate will oversee the planning, design, and validation of systems and products, ensuring timely delivery.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have experience managing cross-functional teams and possess technical knowledge of embedded software development processes.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and implement system design, development, and validation of medical device systems and products.
  • Oversee the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies in partnership with other units.
  • Lead the team in developing new concepts from initial design to market release and sustain products already on the field.
  • Maintain documentation throughout all phases of development.
  • Coordinate activities across product teams to ensure timely delivery of the system for design characterization, verification, and validation testing.
  • Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operation of the function.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of systems verification and validation processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree required with minimum 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience managing a cross-functional engineering technical team size of 20 or more.
  • Provide a blend of people management and technical savviness.
  • Have a deep understanding of embedded and application SW development processes (Agile, waterfall methodology) and establishing metrics & recommended processes for the team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of how to manage teams in a large organization, especially at multiple locations and remotely.
  • Great communication skills: Strong ability to coordinate people and teams around unstructured challenges and moving project priorities.
  • Knowledge of product development workflow.
  • Knowledge of medical device development process: 60601, 13485, 62304.
  • Can inspire a team and show vision.
  • A passion for learning new things.
