About Our Role

We are seeking an experienced journalist to join our global editorial team as a senior market analyst covering the global ferroalloys and bulk ores markets, with a particular focus on India.

You will report to the Editorial Director and work alongside our industry-leading journalists and analysts.

About Us:

We provide price transparency across the global fuel supply chain, including the Spot, Wholesale Rack and Retail markets. We enable customers to buy and sell energy commodities with confidence with multi-platform access to accurate data, real-time news, powerful software and educational events.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Report ferroalloys and bulk ore prices on a weekly basis, with a particular focus on India.
  • Help launch new ferroalloys and bulk ores market assessments, define specifications, gather market feedback.
  • Generate news content on the ferroalloys and bulk ores markets, working closely with analysts in Africa and Europe.
  • Periodic pieces on topical industry issues (e.g. regulatory/policy developments, geopolitical issues, investment, project pipeline, ESG etc.).
  • Maintain strong client and industry relationships – ideally bringing these relationships from prior roles. Continually share and source market intelligence.
  • Engage actively in business development, assisting our account managers in the sales process through maintaining sales pipelines and assisting in the sales process.

What You Need:

  • 2-4 years of experience in the steel or steel raw materials industries and/or markets.
  • Experience in covering ferroalloys, bulk ores or related markets as a journalist, analyst or market reporter.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrable impact and influence skills.
  • Excellent ability to present and to lead public discussions (e.g. moderating panels at conferences)
  • Strong quantitative skills advantageous
  • Exemplary written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a team while sometimes operating alone
  • Ability to manage others while maintaining personal output
  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering would be advantageous
