Job Title: Public Affairs Specialist

This role involves managing the organization's communication with the public, media, and institutions/agencies while supporting policy initiatives.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design, execute, and evaluate communication programs and public information campaigns to advance agency goals and public understanding.
  2. Act as the main contact for media inquiries, prepare press releases, respond to public and press questions, and monitor media coverage of agency activities.
  3. Represent the organization at institutions, policy makers, civic, and community meetings.
  4. Advise management on policy formulation, assess potential public reactions to proposed actions, and assist in articulating policy statements.
  5. Prepare newsletters, brochures, presentations, social media materials, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Conduct research, analyze public opinion and regulatory trends, and prepare impact assessments and recommendations for senior leaders.
  7. Organize outreach activities, educational initiatives, facility tours, public events, and emergency preparedness communications.
Requirements:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with social media platforms and content creation tools.
  • Knowledge of public relations principles and practices.
