Land Acquisition Specialist

Purpose:

We seek an experienced professional to join our land team in a key role for the cement business in Ahmedabad.

The ideal candidate will have 7-12 years of experience with a minimum of 5 years in land acquisition and land management.

Experience in the cement industry is preferred but not mandatory.

Candidates with experience in thermal, coal mining, and other infrastructure businesses involving large-scale land acquisition are also welcome.

This individual will play a crucial role in coordinating and monitoring land acquisition across multiple regional sites and resolving land issues as a support function to the cement business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor land acquisition across multiple sites in coordination with regional teams.
  • Knowledge and experience in private land acquisition, government land allotment, forest land acquisition, and private land acquisition via LARR.
  • Assistance in resolving land issues at multiple sites, including litigation related to title, encroachments, ceiling limit exemptions, and NA.
  • Prepare periodic MIS reports to exhibit acquisition progress and issue resolution.
  • Familiarity with revenue documentation.
  • Collation and verification of title search documents with support from the legal team.
  • Stakeholder management with land aggregators, regional land teams, business development teams, legal teams, project teams, and finance teams regarding land acquisition progress and land issues resolution.
  • Support regional teams in mutation, collection of original sale deeds, coordination with finance teams for fund release, and CAPEX budgeting.
  • Conduct site visits to regional land acquisition sites to monitor acquisition progress and support in resolving land issues.
Essential Skills
  • Thorough understanding of land acquisition processes and regulations.
  • Understanding and knowledge of land laws.
  • Familiarity with revenue documentation, submissions, government regulations, and compliance requirements.
Negotiable Qualifications
  • Stakeholder management skills.
  • Excel proficiency and preparation of MIS reports.
  • Ability to handle and navigate multiple projects.
  • Thorough understanding of land acquisition processes and regulations.
Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Knowledge of Google Earth and KMZ.
