Database Administrator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, secure, and optimize both relational and NoSQL databases in a cloud environment.

The role demands expertise in database performance tuning, automation, and building robust data pipelines to support AI-driven applications and business-critical processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, monitor, and optimize relational and NoSQL databases for high availability and performance.
  • Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and streaming processes for real-time and batch data.
  • Ensure database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Implement automation scripts using Shell/PowerShell/Python for operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support application integration with databases.
  • Maintain data integrity, compliance, and security standards.
  • Provide database support for deployments, upgrades, and patch management.
  • Troubleshoot database issues, ensuring minimal downtime and business continuity.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle.
  • Proficiency in database administration, replication, clustering, and sharding.
  • Experience in data pipelines, streaming technologies, and ETL processes.
  • Proficiency in Python for database scripting, automation, and AI/ML data integration.
  • Strong skills in Shell scripting / PowerShell automation.
  • Expertise in database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Knowledge of cloud-hosted databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP Cloud SQL).
  • Understanding of database security, encryption, and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-driven data workflows is a plus.
