Oracle Database Specialist Role

As a seasoned Oracle Database Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in leading the end-to-end migration lifecycle across assessment, planning, execution, validation, and post-migration optimization.

  • You will define and drive migration strategy, methodologies, and best practices to ensure seamless delivery across all phases of the program.
  • Lead database migration across various platforms, including Data Center-to-Data Center, AWS-to-AWS cloud setups, Azure-to-Azure cloud setups, Oracle Exadata (Exadata to Exadata, Exadata to ExaCC), and Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, design, and execute Oracle database migrations using proven strategies and tools.
  2. Implement delta data synchronization strategies for near-zero downtime migration.
  3. Collaborate with cloud architects, infrastructure teams, and application owners to ensure smooth migration with minimal business disruption.
Must-Have Skills
  • 12+ years of Oracle Database experience, with 5+ years in leadership/managerial roles overseeing database migration programs.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale Oracle migrations in multi-cloud, Exadata, and ExaCC environments.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Exadata administration, migration, and performance tuning.
  • Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) implementation and management.
  • Rubrik for backup, restore, and DR integration.
  • OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) for monitoring and migration validation.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native database solutions in AWS (RDS, EC2, S3) and Azure (Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Recovery Vaults).
  • Experience in data purging, retention policies, and compliance for regulated environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and problem-resolution skills, particularly in Exadata/ExaCC environments.
